Ethiopian Journal of Health Sciences (EJHS) has a debut Journal Impact Factor (IF) of 1.2.

The EJHS is a general medical and public health journal owned by Jimma University which existed since 1990. It publishes peer reviewed scientific articles. Currently, it publishes six regular issues and additional special issues a year and is indexed in over 16 international indexers including all major indexing databases Web of Science, PubMed, Scopus, DOAJ, and AJOL. EJHS receives over 1600 manuscripts a year through scholar-one manuscript management online platform. Over 60% of its submissions are from abroad and the acceptance rate is 10%. EJHS is top ranking among all types of journals in Ethiopia, is among few ‘A+‘ African journals and 17^th from all African medical/health sciences Journals according to Scimago ranking. EJHS provides current scientific and technological information on health and related fields for informed planning and decision making, and contributes to the scientific knowledge and practices in medicine, public health and related fields by providing a formal means for researchers to share their scientific research works, observations and experiences.
